The individual operating modes and the disposables make the CARDIOHELP System suitable for diseases where cardiac and/or respiratory support is needed for up to 6 hours.
During open heart surgery (e.g., minimal extracorporeal circulation with the CARDIOHELP System), extracorporeal support is less stressful for the patient than the use of a conventional heart-lung machine. In cases of respiratory failure without cardiac impairment, CARDIOHELP provides respiratory assistance with veno-venous support. During veno-arterial support the system provides cardiopulmonary support.
